No ride to school for 13-year-olds because of what officials call an "obscene gesture"

Two 13-year-olds in Ohio had to walk to class last friday after being suspended for farting on their school bus.

The Columbus Dispatch reports that on the hour-long bus ride last Thursday, the boys, err, broke wind, and, "Children being children, the flatulence apparently caused a ruckus on the bus amid a flurry of laughs, jeers and lowering of windows."

Reportedly, the seventh-graders had been warned before by the bus driver about their passing of gas and this repeat offence was reported to Canal Winchester Middle School officials. They cited the pair for an "obscene gesture," violating the student code of conduct and revoked their bus privilege for a day.

James Nichols, one of the boy's fathers, told the newspaper the punishment was a "real stretch," but ultimately felt, "It's very laughable… I wouldn't call him an angel, but for passing gas on the bus?… When it happens, it just happens."
