Cabs seized, licences revoked seven days

Two motorists in Toronto have had their cars seized for seven days for street racing down Yonge St. around 8 p.m. January 25.

The drivers, whose cars had bright custom paint jobs, aftermarket lights and sponsor decals all over the place, also had their licences suspended seven days.

Did we mention they were driving taxi cabs?

It was a Royal Cab versus Beck Taxi showdown that started near Dundas Square and zoomed northward, reports CTV, though what inspired it remains unclear.

AutoBlog says neither cab company has issued a comment yet, and whether the drivers will be fired, they haven't said.

If there was ever any doubt Ontario's street racer car seizure laws made exceptions for anybody, put it out of your mind, I guess.
