Over the last week or so, you may have noticed a few articles that weren't what you're used to here in Autos.
Why I don't like motorcycles? Owner 'wrecks' an expensive car? Some of you rightfully called me out for writing pieces that were more sensational than substantive.
And I appreciate it. Here in the office we look at traffic, see what people are clicking on, and try to anticipate the next few pieces that will play well on Sympatico.ca.
For Autos, at least, I've been trying to hold our stories to a high standard. Taking on award-winning writers like Kathy Buckworth and working with Mike Goetz to investigate fuel prices in Canada are part of our goal to not be just another "autos" site with bland reviews and copy/paste news releases.
I tried to push a little more entertainment over the last week, and there was resistance. I like that. It means you're used to expecting more from us; from our guides section to our new Premium offering, there are plenty of stories that reinforce (my thought, anyway) we're Canada's best automotive website.
What else could we be doing a better job on? What should we be covering? I'm all ears, as always—your suggestions are welcome.
Here are some stories I'm proud of that have ran over the last year. (There are more, of course!) No crashes or guys falling off of motorcycles. Promise.
(And, of course, the Forum—where experts will answer your car questions for free—is worth seeing if you haven't been yet.)
