Attempt at car loop beaten by gravity

A Chinese automaker that turned a loop-the-loop record into a repeatable promotional stunt was humbled last week when one driver's loop was cut short, courtesy gravity.

After breaking the Guinness record for largest car loop-the-loop, Youngman Lotus decided to take its show on the road, pulling off similar looping stunts to promote its cars.

But during a demonstration in the eastern Chinese city of Hefei, one stunt driver's attempt was turned into a half-loop-and-straight-down-drop when the car clipped the side of the loop, slowing it down.

The China Car Times assumes (hopefully rightly) that the car's roll cage protected the driver from major injuries; we'll assume he's done cheating death for at least a few weeks.
