Kentucky man arrested over Facebook photos

Michael Baker, 20, of Kentucky probably wasn't thinking things through when he decided to post to his public Facebook profile a photo of himself stealing gas from a police car.

If he had thought it through, he probably would've realized that Jenkins City police might be liable to arrest him over something like that. Which they did.

The fact he was aiming his middle finger at the camera when his girlfriend snapped the photo probably didn't help.

The Smoking Gun reports that after police arrested Baker April 16, they charged him with a misdemeanor charge because he "stole gas from a Jenkins City Police Cruiser” and then “posted a picture of his theft on facebook” (quoted from the arrest warrant).

As of April 20, Baker's Facebook profile is still public, though the offending image has been removed.

He's left up a few status updates that allude to the trouble the photo caused him, though; for example, "yea lol i went too jail over facebook." Of the media coverage, he writes, "omg people it was a joke."
