Chinese motorist loses licence over fraudulent plate

A Chinese Porsche driver may have just lost his licence after using toothpaste to alter his car's plates.

Chinese motorists apparently have a bad habit of trying to alter or obscure their licence plates in an affront to governmental authority (i.e. the police), though we're betting few have tried using dental hygiene products to that end.

But according to China Car Times, that's exactly the sort of stroke of genius that struck one Porsche Boxster driver who used the white stuff to turn the "11" on his plates to a "77."

Unfortunately for him, police in the city of Qingdao were not fooled, and he ended up attracting their attention with his funny-looking sevens.

The Beijing man was handed a $345 fine and issued six demerit points. The bad news for him? He only had six left. Guess he won't be driving for the next little while.
