"Trailer Park Boys" have turned into car enthusiasts
If you're a fan of the Trailer Park Boys, or of the Targa Newfoundland rally, you may have heard about how the show's stars, Robb Wells and John Paul Tremblay, raced a Cayman S in the event last year.
They're back at it again this year, in another Porsche, but this time they decided they're not just going to be —ing around racing, they'll be filming the thing.
Wells and Tremblay, along with Mike Smith ("Bubbles"), are turning their Targa experience into a movie, Race Dicks. The plot follows the trio's efforts raising funds via racing endorsements to start their own Internet network, "SwearNet."
Not coincidentally, the group's also actually working on a ton of fundraising in real life, to make the movie. They're aiming for $50,000 to cover production costs and get the film out for 2013, but have raised less than $2,000 so far.
Donors get various "perks" based on how much they contribute: top contributors ($7,500) earn a walk-on role in the movie, but even $10 makes you an "Honorary Dick" (which is actually a good thing).
We're hoping they get all the —ing cash they need, 'cause Trailer Park Boys: The Movie was pretty funny. The 2006 film was, in fact, the most popular movie released in Canada for its first weekend release.
Need another reason to contribute? The team's coach is legendary Canadian Porsche racer Rick Bye.
