Special Phantom debuts this week at UK art show

Rolls-Royce Motor Cars has hand-built a bespoke Phantom Drophead Coupé for this week's Masterpiece London 2011 art show.

The one-off convertible was "designed to capture the essence of a perfect weekend get-away," and is painted Mazarine Blue, inspired by a rare butterfly sometimes spotted in the South of England. It joins Rolls-Royce's impressive colour palette of 44,000 shades.

The special Drophead Coupé also features a one-off jewellery box from Britain's luxury goods maker, Asprey, that took two days to finish. Other items on the car include a bespoke luggage set, teak decking, engraved tread plates and a special Spirit of Ecstasy hood ornament with an inscription that marks the centenary of Rolls-Royce.

The interior wears copious leather finished in Seashell with Navy Blue contrast and embroidered R-R logos in the headrests.

There's no word yet from Rolls-Royce if it plans to sell the special edition Phantom after the show.
