New special edition marks muscle car's big screen return in Transformers: Dark of the Moon

To mark the Camaro's silver screen return as the Autobot “Bumblebee” in Transformers: Dark of the Moon, opening this week, Chevrolet has announced a 2012 Transformers Special Edition Camaro Coupe.

To be sold to fans in Canada, the U.S., China, Japan, Europe, South America and the Middle East, the special edition will be offered on Camaros with Rally Yellow paint. The Transformers pack will add black stripes, a unique high-wing rear spoiler, 20-inch black wheels and Autobot shield logos on the centre caps and front fenders. Inside, the special Camaro gets a black leather interior accented with yellow stitching. Autobot Shield logos are embroidered on the front headrests and the centre console. Two dealer-installed options are also available: exclusive, 21-inch, black wheels and a black ground-effects package.

Customers can order their Canadian-built 2012 Transformers Special Edition Camaro in July, with vehicles arriving at dealers in September. Chevy previously offered an Autobots-themed Camaro in late 2009.
