FT-86 Open to premiere at Geneva

Toyota has revealed images of its FT-86 Open Concept sports car ahead of its official debut at Geneva.

The FT-86 is the foreign-market version of the Scion FR-S sold in Canada.

The concept car features an electric folding canvas roof – a navy blue one, specifically, to contrast with the white paint job – with glass rear window.

Toyota says the work turning the coupe into a ragtop wouldn't be hard; the 2+2 seating from the fixed-roof car remains, as does the engine and chassis components.

The automaker says trunk space wouldn't be too harshly impacted by the folding-roof mechanism.
