Sudden price hike was "bogus": expert
Gas prices across Canada should drop more than six cents a litre Friday, according to one expert.
"Gas crusader" Dan McTeague, who runs TomorrowsGasPricesToday.com, said September 13 the gasoline industry's been "shamed" into the sudden drop.
He called the steep price hikes Canadians saw September 12 "bogus," reports CTV.
Gasoline prices in Toronto jumped 3.4 cents per litre that day; similar jumps happened across the country. Montreal was hit particularly hard with a price hike of 13 cents per litre, bringing prices to an all-time high of $1.53 per litre at some stations.
The average price of gasoline in Toronto was 136.8 cents per litre September 13, close to ten cents higher than prices this time last September, which averaged around 127.2 cents per litre.
