"Point B" gives behind-the-scenes peek at test prep

Click on a link to "car crash test video" and you'd expect – and get – a few seconds of glorious slow-motion carnage inflicted on vehicles by their own makers.

But Jay Gillespie's new Point B takes a step back and deliberately, soundlessly shows you what goes into catching those few seconds on camera.

The five-minute film covers all the preparation and setup, giving context to those crash clips we know so well.

As Gizmodo put it, it feels like a cross between "a shuttle launch and a surgery."
