What has four wheels and sells like hotcakes?
If you answered the Ford F-150, you'd be right. It's the best-selling vehicle in North America since, like, forever. And so Ford can't afford to lose its dominance—hence this feature-laden Atlas Concept previewed in Detroit.
From active wheel shutters that close at speed (powered by their own batteries! Imagine that!) for improved aerodynamics to a tailgate-mounted support for long ladders, some of the ideas are a little outlandish.
But others are predictable: EcoBoost engines, active grille shutters, power running boards, retractable front air dam, "Dynamic Hitch Assist" to ease hooking up a trailer, an around-view camera monitor—like on some Nissan Products, many more LED lights…hooks…cleats…you get the idea.
